CorPower Ocean secures two new strategic investors
Swedish wave energy innovator CorPower Ocean has secured two new strategic investors as part of its Series B funding round: Acario, the venture arm of Tokyo Gas, and GTT Strategic Ventures, the investment fund of French engineering group GTT.
A global leader in wave energy, CorPower Ocean is developing technology that complements wind and solar by providing a consistent, predictable power source. Integrating wave energy into clean energy systems can help reduce costs, ease infrastructure demands, and lower reliance on storage—offering a more balanced and resilient energy mix. With more than 500 GW of accessible wave energy potential globally, the opportunity is on par with the total installed capacity of hydropower or nuclear energy.
The addition of Acario and GTT marks an important step in CorPower’s commercial scale-up. Both investors bring valuable industrial experience, engineering capabilities, and international credibility to support the company’s growth. They join an expanding investor base including NordicNinja VC, SEB Greentech, InnoEnergy, Cisco Investments, Santander Asset Management, and Iberis Capital.

CorPower Ocean is part of the Investment Accelerator and was one of the program’s earliest participants. The team benefited from investor introductions and tailored coaching offered through the accelerator.
