Heat Recovery Scale-up Enjay Selected for European Venture Fair 2025

Enjay, a Malmö-based cleantech company and participant in the Swedish Energy Agency’s Investment Accelerator programme, has been selected to present at European Venture Fair (EVF) 2025. EVF is an exclusive gathering where investors meet a curated selection of innovative and promising companies. This year, Enjay is among them.

A Unique Solution for Industrial Heat Recovery

Enjay tackles one of the trickiest energy efficiency challenges: recovering heat from polluted exhaust air. Their flagship product, Lepido, is the world’s first industrial heat exchanger capable of recovering energy from exhaust air containing high levels of particles— an ideal solution for commercial kitchens, laundries, and industrial drying processes. Their solution delivers substantial energy cost savings and corresponding CO2 reductions, often reducing the reliance on natural gas. It’s estimated that over 50% of the world’s energy consumption is lost as waste heat, with industry accounting for the majority of that loss. By turning this waste into usable energy, Enjay offers industrial companies a solution that is both economically smart and environmentally impactful.

Fundraising to Scale Energy Savings

To date, Enjay has installed about 150 Lepido units at industrial kitchens, laundries, and factories. Now, the company is entering its next phase of growth, and they’re fundraising to get there.

At the core of this scale-up strategy is the launch of an Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model where Enjay will offer industrial customers heat recovery as a service—with no upfront investment required. This eliminates capital expenditure for the customer and lowers the barrier to adoption. Enjay, in turn, earns its revenue directly from the energy savings it delivers and achieves strong unit economics through recurring, high-margin contracts.

Enjay’s market research has found strong demand for this offering, opening up a clear path to market penetration and recurring revenue. Their current fundraising round is being supported by the Swedish Energy Agency’s investment accelerator programme.
