SET Award 2026 opens for applications from climate tech pioneers

SET Award is a global competition organized by the German Energy Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council. It highlights pioneering innovations that accelerate the energy transition and address climate challenges.
Start-ups and young companies active for no more than ten years are eligible. Solutions should address areas such as:
- Clean Energy & Storage
- Industry
- Buildings & Construction
- Quality Energy Access & SDG-7
- Mobility & Transportation
Why Should Swedish Companies Apply?
SET Award offers a unique opportunity to showcase innovations to investors, industrial partners, and policymakers. Previous Swedish winners have gained international recognition and commercial breakthroughs. Participation also helps position Sweden as a leader in green technology.

What’s in it for the companies?
The application deadline is 31 October, and companies that are accepted can look forward to the following:
- €10,000 prize money for category winners
• A free trip to Berlin to pitch at the SET Tech Festival
• Exposure to top investors and industry leaders
The top 100 applying energy startups get on top access to the prestigious SET100 list.
The Role of the Swedish Energy Agency
The Swedish Energy Agency is a strategic partner of SET Awards and actively supports Swedish energy tech companies in reaching international markets. Through collaboration with dena, Swedish companies gain access to a global network of investors and innovation leaders.
